14U Head Coach James Birch

Dr. James Birch graduated from the NSU Shepard Broad Law Center with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 2002. Currently, Jim is an associate professor at Colorado Technical University, where he has taught for over a decade, and the Vice Principal of Immaculate Conception Academy (“ICA”), a private school located in Norwood, Ohio.

Jim grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he had the opportunity to play baseball (outside!) year round. He went on to play Division II baseball for Nova Southeastern University, where he was an infielder, pitcher, and captain of the team.

Jim has four boys, and has been coaching his oldest son for nearly a decade. This past year Jim formed a high school baseball team at ICA. Jim is excited to have the opportunity to coach the 13U Knights team. It is his belief that sports can help boys to learn team-work, discipline, and hard work; and that it is important to strive to win and to learn from mistakes.
